It is possible to open one palette from another palette. Simply attach palette 2's icon to palette 1 like any other item. By "piggy-backing" palettes in this manner, it is possible to jump from task to task without ever rummaging through the Finder
Example:
Tom created a series of seperate palettes containing the necessary tools for the daily tasks he performs such as word processing, programming, graphics, etc. ( Tom also created palettes that contain all of his control panels, desk accessories, important folders, etc.)
Then, Tom created a master palette (Tom calls his "Home Base"). On the master palette, Tom then attached his word processing, programming, and graphics palette files to the blank tiles of his master palette. Tom uses the "File" button when attaching palettes to other palettes in this manner.
By placing an alias of the master palette's file in his System's "Startup Items" Folder, Tom's master palette automatically appears on his desktop whenever his Mac is started.
To start a word processing session using his Master Palette, Tom clicks on the master palette tile that contains his word processing palette. Tom's word processing palette opens and display all of his word processing tools. Tom can then close the Master Palette, or if memory permits, leave it open on the desktop. If Tom had selected the AutoClose option in the Preferences box, his Master Palette would close automatically.
Tom also added the master palette's icon to the last tile of all of his other palettes so he can 'hop' back to the master palette easily if he does decide to close it.
Tom uses this method to jump from task to task and palette to palette without constantly rummaging through his desktop folders.
